This weekend promises to be a great weekend of skiing. Take advantage of the milder weather and the fantastic conditions we have on our trails. We have 2 events happening this weekend up at Hiawatha, so come out and enjoy this wonderful winter weekend!
Saturday, Feb 22 – Final Time Trial of the season – Starts at noon, cost is only a loonie, and we’ll have hot chocolate and cookies afterwards. Registration closes tomorrow (Friday Feb 21) so sign up now by following this link…
Sunday, Feb 23 – Mabel Lake Picnic– Head out around 11am and you’ll meet some fellow skiers both on the trails and out at the lake!
The trails out to Mabel Lake are groomed and are in fantastic shape. We are encouraging you to grab a friend, your family, pack a picnic lunch and a thermos and head out on this beautiful backcountry trail to Mabel lake. Start out on the Crystal 5k loop and take the Mabel extension out across Crystal creek and follow the trail to Mabel lake. Have your picnic lunch out on the lake and then come back along the creek. Unfortunately there will be no support on the trails this year, but it will be a great day to get out there and enjoy it. As soon as it starts to thaw, we won’t be able to get in there any more. The round trip from the Kincentre is 19km.
