The Trails

The ski trails are managed by Hiawatha Highlands.  Hiawatha Highlands is a division of the Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club.

Hiawatha Highlands offers over 45 km of Ski trails (2 km are lit until 10:00 PM) and 14 km of double track Snowshoeing. Enjoy the soothing sounds of the whispering pines and the magnificent views of ice falls in our winter wonderland. Trail systems cater to both the beginner and advanced skier and welcomes all types of Nordic skiing. Whether you plan to test your skiing ability on our competition trails or take a slow “wildering” tour north to Mable Lake, you will find a trail that suits your needs.

Free parking and the warmth of the Kinsmen Centre is available for all skiers and snowshoers to use, seven days a week, and your choice of overnight accommodations is available only five to ten minutes away.

So come north for some of the continent’s finest Nordic skiing, and you can also enjoy many of our fine hotels, shopping and restaurants in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario Canada.
