Earlier this year, Nordiq Canada, the national sports organization for cross-country skiing in Canada, adopted a pan-Canadian Safe Sport policy suite. The Safe Sport policy suite follows the True Sport principles. Cross Country Ski Ontario (XCSO), the provincial sports organization for cross-country skiing in Ontario, has been a True Sport member for many years. XCSO has promoted that its member clubs, including Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club (SFNSC), adopt the True Sport principles. XCSO has volunteered to be the first province in Canada to have all its member clubs compliant with the various Safe Sport-related policies and procedures throughout the 2023/2024 on-snow cross-country ski season.
At its meeting on November 1, 2023, the Board of SFNSC approved a number of Safe Sport-related polices and procedures which can be found on our Club Policies page . Members of SFNSC are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the Club’s current policies and procedures.
