The ski club is hosting a Community Coaching (CC) course, which is designed for parents and new coaches. You can learn more about coaching development here. This course is a great opportunity to learn specific ski coaching basics such as designing a lesson and seasonal plan, selecting and preparing equipment, and teaching classic and skate skills. Helen Lindfors will facilitate the workshop virtually and in-person (on snow) at Hiawatha Highlands. The times for the course are as follows (but may be adjusted depending on snow):
- 11-Dec-2020, 7:00PM – 9:30PM (virtual)
- 12-Dec-2020, 9:00AM – 12:30PM (on snow)
- 13-Dec-2020, 9:00AM – 12:00PM (on snow)
- 18-Dec-2020, 7:00PM – 9:30PM (virtual)
There are two online modules that are prerequisites to this CC course, and they can be completed at your convenience prior to the class. Information and instructions on how to complete the online modules can be found here.
Cost to participate is $125 for CC. Please submit all of your coach training receipts to [email protected] for reimbursement after a season of coaching.
