The cooler than normal temperatures over the last few weeks and westerly winds have resulted in perfect conditions for lake effect snow in the Sault Ste. Marie area. As of November 21, Environment Canada reports that Sault Ste. Marie has recorded more than 161cm of snowfall during the month of November. This has enabled Hiawatha Highlands trail groomers to get out early this year to roll the trails and set track. Skiing conditions have been great. The weather forecast calls for above freezing temperatures on Saturday, Sunday and Monday with chances of sh0wers. Enough snow has fallen to help the ski trails to survive this three day warming trend.
Get out and enjoy the early skiing and pick up your trail passes at Hiawatha Highlands.
