The Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club, located at Hiawatha Highlands – Sault Ste. Marie, ON offers a Para Nordic Program. The goals of this program are:
- to increase the accessibility of cross-country skiing to youth and adults of all abilities
- increase physical activity levels of participants, especially during the winter months
- develop skill in cross-country skiing, a sport that can become a lifelong activity
- provide coaching for athletes who want to race
- reduce the incidence of injury in cross-country skiing and other activities through education and skill development
- improve mental health during winter months through outdoor activity
